Do you think there is anything wrong with getting cosmetic surgery for beautification reasons?

I remember in primary school I was mocked at school because of the size of my forehead.
Even though the name calling claimed down once I reached middle/high school that still didn’t stop me from feeling bad and insecure about the size of my forehead.
I got forehead reduction surgery when I was 19 and I don’t regret it. It really helped my self esteem.

I have heard some people say things like this though in the past “People should just accept the way god/mother nature created them and getting plastic surgery is vain.”

I think for the most part, people should learn to accept themselves for who they are and how they look, just as people did in the past before all these surgeries were available.

I will say that there are some cases where people are disfigured from birth and in those scenarios it's okay to get cosmetic surgery. However, if they choose to do so, they need to tell their partners about it, otherwise they're blindsiding them. Genetics do not change, no matter what kind of cosmetic surgery you have and your genetics is what affects your kids.

That being said, I think that forehead reduction surgery is one of the the very few types of surgeries I don't look down on too much. So I would not look down on you for it.

Sometimes it's OK. Sometimes it's a God damned shame where someone who has this complex about their beauty and they get surgery and then they look even worse.

It just depends. I remember seeing a girl who just happened to have this genetically derived fat pouch under her chin. She had the face of a fat girl but her body was smoking hot and lean.

She had to get the fat removed surgically from beneath her chin. And I feel like that was reasonable.

Often times I see women get surgery for absolutely ridiculous reasons. They already look beautiful but because they have crazy ideas in their head they want all this surgery and it ruins them. It's pretty sad.

I do for the most part especially if you are going for the whole Kardashian or IG "model" look because at the end of the day girls like that are making life harder for regular looking people. Like girls who wear tons of makeup and change their faces and get implants to have what isn't usually possible normally. So then men chase the fake look and don't date average or normal looking people. As for fixing something wrong, I want to say you shouldn't have done it because you should love yourself, but if you were that insecure about it I suppose its fine.

No, it’s your body so your choice. Tell these other people who tell you to spend your money a certain way to mind their own business. If you haven’t gone overboard with the cosmetic procedures and you still look natural that’s good.

I'd question it when it goes to extremes and is not required for sure , but your circumstance is different , and it assisted you mentally.

How do they do it? this procedure , and was it painful?

Kids are fucking mean. I used to get made fun of for my teeth (Diastema - basically I have Arnold Schwarzenegger teeth). Now though chicks love it and dudes won't say shit to me about my teeth.

It was like a "flaw" that never went anywhere at all... but the opinions just changed with age I guess. Still to this day I expect someone to say some shit about my teeth... they just don't. It's like a non-issue now just because I grew up.

I believe in it being available for birth defects and severe disfigurement. Childhood bullying should never lead to surgery in my opinion. It will change what others randomly grabbed and claimed is unattractive, but it does nothing for the greater internal damage. My bet is there was nothing wrong with you. That's all those children could fabricate in the moment, and prob stuck with it even when untrue.

If you are already beautiful and do surgery i personally feel your dumb however if you are not that attractive and know it then i fully support surgery to help you feel better however id start with natural methods first just in case you can fix your problems that way.

"Wrong" is an amorphous term. Theoretically, I could look several years younger with eyeful skin removal, cheek lifts, etc. Would I like to look younger? Sure. But, it would be an OOP cost that I refuse to pay when I need the money for other MANDATORY expenses that I have to cover. Perhaps the question should be, "is it 'right'/moral/logical/whateverical to spend money on my (always degrading) looks rather than necessities such as food and shelter?'

Nut you don't need to fall into that "this doesn't fit beauty standards I have to change it" mindset. Because you know what? I don't think there's anything wrong but it's usually the beginning of the end. People start with cosmetic procedures and end up putting their life at risk looking for perfection. For a lot of people this can be an addiction.
