When you get your ears pierced and after it's healed, do you keep it on your ears 24/7( even when you sleep) or do you take them off?
Do you wear your earrings even when you're at home on Sundays for example? Do you take them off everynight before going to bed or do you keep them on? Or do you take them off and only wear them on special occasions: when you go out on a date, on valentines day or to a nightclub or to a party, etc?
Are you supposed to keep you earring on 24h a day and 7 days a week? All the time? Or can you take them on and off?
If you take them off, won't the holes close up?
For example if you've had your ears pierced 6 months ago and your ears have fully healed but then you get the flu so you stay home for the next 2 weeks, you're not gonna wear your diamond earrings if you're ill and at home are you? So will the holes close up? How long does it take for holes to close up?
Does that mean you have to keep going to your piercer to get your ears pierced over and over again everytime you remove your earrings for an extended period of time?

Oh, the journey with ear piercings is such a personal one, isn't it? After your piercings have healed, which typically takes about 6 weeks for lobe piercings but can be much longer for other parts of the ear, it really comes down to your comfort and the type of earrings you're wearing. Some people keep their earrings in 24/7, especially initial or simple studs, because they find it comfortable and it helps keep the piercing open. This is especially common during the first year of having your piercings when they're more likely to close if left empty.
However, whether you decide to rock those earrings all day or take them off at night or when you're just lounging at home on a Sunday is entirely up to you. If your ears are fully healed, taking your earrings out for a short period, like when you're sleeping or if you're not feeling well, generally won't cause the holes to close up, especially if you've had your piercings for a while. But it varies from person to person; some might find their piercings start to close up if they don't wear earrings for a few days, while others have no issues even if they leave them out for weeks.
As for not wearing earrings when you're sick, like with the flu, it's totally okay to give your body a break and not wear any jewelry. If you've had your piercings for 6 months and they're fully healed, a couple of weeks without earrings likely won't cause the piercings to close up completely, but the longer you leave them out, the more chance there is that you might find them a bit tighter when you next try to insert earrings.
Generally, you don't need to re-pierce your ears every time you leave your earrings out for a while, but it's good to regularly wear something in the holes to keep them from closing, especially if you notice they're prone to tightening up. And if in doubt, popping in a pair of those little studs can keep them open without feeling like you have to be all dolled up while you're just chilling or under the weather.
