Is It A "Bad Look" When A Woman Wears Lipstick Without Any Other Makeup?

I never gave it much thought because I am not into makeup, but a co worker (who wears a *lot* of makeup, lol) said its a bad look when a woman wears lipstick with no eye makeup and foundation.

I worked for a famous global cosmetics company for 4 years. But I was in the business area, didn't really have anything to directly do with the product.

They used to send us to these seminars they held for managers to teach them about the products. They would have these experts there in hair care and cosmetics, usually women who did it professionally for models and gay men.

They would try to teach you about that stuff. But I had absolutely zero interest in it and still to this day don't have a clue.

Does it really matter if women use lipstick but not the other stuff? I don't understand it. 😏

I think it's bad to judge someone based on this and I don't think there's a point to the question that will give you a different answer than you inherently already know... which is some people will say yes no or depends. Because there is no one answer to what is a bad look because we all have a certain sense of style and what is beautiful.

I hate the way make up feels. I sometimes wear very lightly applied eyeliner. Never foundation or eye shadow, blush, etc. I do use lip gloss, always flavored and sometimes tinted.

I think it just depends on how a girl likes to look and how she likes to present herself.

@bannacookies lipstick without makeup is even better to me , I use less makeup or none but use lipstick more

I mean I don't necessarily agree. I do think there are a lot of common make-up looks that intentionally address multiple parts of the face, but just because it's common doesn't mean it has to be done that way. I guess if anything it might look a little unbalanced because we're not used to it? I think that's mostly just your coworker's opinion more than anything. I would do it personally, but that's because I favor eye make-up and don't enjoy wearing lipstick.

Lipstick tends to stick out a lot more and almost looks harsh when it’s not paired with anything. Adding even a little mascara tones it down. I think a lip tint looks a lot better with a bare face, doesn’t take away from your other facial features

Wouldn't say so, some people genetically have good skin and don't even need foundation, even when they have it it looks more fake and unnatural. Also some women have very good features so they don't need and look good without make up

Not if she has a basically good complexion. Especially in the summertime. I rarely put anything other than a touch of gloss on my face if I'm going out in the summertime. No need. Like... who am I trying to impress by putting on globs of makeup?
