Well, If I have to make a choice between the two ends, I prefer style. Coldness is bearable for me, but nor is ugliness.

The one on the left would look more normal without the skirt. The skirt is pretty useless.

Fleece lined tights/leggings under skirt. Or just skip the skirt for trousers anyway.
