It seems like they don't realize the point is for them to hate it and be disgusted... These men are usually controlling and abusive in some way. At least that's what I've noticed so it's best to make it so they aren't attracted by dying hair crazy colors, getting piercings and tattoos. Even certain outfits keep them away as well. It's funny because as a teen my parents allowed me to dye my hair crazy colors and get lots of piercings. This was smart on their end because it was a way for me to gain protection against bad men

The problem with that line of thinking is that it does NOT scare men away - it just makes men think "this is a low-value woman, who is ADVERTISING her low value, and thus if I have any interest in her at all, it's only as a sex toy."

I have no idea why women think that anything they do is "intimidating" to men or is going to scare them away. It might do that for a small percentage of men with zero confidence, but the vast majority of men aren't intimidated. They simply don't see them as being "relationship worthy" (and of course, there are exceptions - men who don't exclude them from being "relationship worthy" - but they are exceptions, not the norm).

A majority of men simply won't engage with women like this - they only engage with women they consider "relationship worthy." They aren't going to say anything, aren't going to be mean or rude, they're just going to politely ignore such women. A much smaller group of men WILL pursue such women, but they're just going to pursue them for casual sex, and they don't respect such women. A much smaller percentage DO pursue them as a potential relationship partner, but this is probably less than 10% of men - and often NOT the guys that the women want.

For women who have no interest in a long-term relationship/marriage/family, then I suppose none of this matters. But for women who DO want a serious relationship, they need to understand that they've SEVERELY limited the pool of men who will take them seriously as a partner. Sure, that's entirely your right to do, and men aren't going to stop you, or even try to stop you, but you can't complain when you have poor relationship options or outcomes. And if you DO complain, plenty of men are going to tell you like it is.

It should be NO surprise that the vast majority of men prefer women who look all-natural and feminine - no tattoos, no piercings, no wild hair colors, no shaved heads, no branding, and not muscle-bound or masculine. These are the women that most men consider for serious, long-term relationships. Women can choose to be that, or they can choose not to, and their outcomes are likely to reflect that choice. A few may find the exception, but most won't.

And most importantly, women don't get to decide what men want, just as men can't decide what women want. You can be whatever you want to be, but you can't make men want you that way. Tons of women are on track to be single for the rest of their lives because they have no interest in being what men want, and that would be fine, EXCEPT that most of those women are going to complain that they can't find a man. It's going to be their own damn fault, and for most, it's going to be way too late for them when they finally realize that it's their own fault.

They may not want men to want them, but plenty of men still will - they'll just want them for casual sex and nothing more. And, yes, you're a successful exception to the rule. You "won the lotto". Exceptions always exist, but they're also not very common.

Women ALWAYS focus on the exceptions, but most end up disappointed. Men focus on the "rule" - what gives them the best/most options and greatest chance of success, because we understand how math works, and don't just assume that we "deserve" success.

Sure, but while I agree that there are men who are fine with tattoos and piercings and blue hair, there was also huge pressure put on men over the last 30 years to just accept whatever a woman wanted without question, because "women were oppressed." There is a large and growing percentage of men who are done with that, and would rather be single than accept women that they don't want. Doing that hasn't worked out, so they are just not doing it anymore.

I'm not saying that such women could never find a man, but many won't be able to get the men they really want, and that's directly due to their chosen "look."

And that look isn't going to keep away the men who just want sex either. In fact, it tends to attract such men, because there is a perception (with at least a basis in reality, even if it isn't universal) that such woman are easy and freaky. I've heard that perception from men across the country, so it's not just something I've made up.

I think they are cool and people should do what ever they want in their own life as long as it doesn’t harm anyone else. It just gets a little much for me to find attractive.

X for doubt.. I dated a girl recently who dyes her hair and has a septum piercing who was very attracted to me and men in general.. Men are turned off by it because it, it's often symptom to an unhealthy mindset and not entirely mentally stable, especially about men.. But it definitely won't scare off predators..
