Boots in the summer... cute or crazy?

From a pragmatic perspective DrM's aren't just "boots" -- summer hiking is a thing, so you need the right shoe. Those or another sort of military boot/hiking shoe are desirable if you're a big walker or outdoorsy person. HOWEVER, there's also a therapeutic benefit to having the open-toe shoes to air out your little tootsies in the warm summer months. At this level it's more a matter of knowing your body.
Stylistically, though, it's not my favorite look and never was. I like a much lighter, less structured girly look in the summertime -- like a sun dress and a comfortable walking sandal -- especially when I'm not working. Boots tend to be clunky and draw visual attention straight to your feet and away from your prettier features.
Psychologically, the look detracts from one's perception of who you are. In that moment where they're first meeting you, the lasting reductive impression folks make based on your empirical presence causes them to think of you as standoffish (rather than just confident) or rebellious/confrontational (rather than ladylike) or avoidant and closed off (rather than approachable).

As someone who had her time wearing them, I ended up hanging my Dr. M's up for a more feminine style after college, but in my college years they were invaluable to me because I was always hiking and walking everywhere and needed that additional support. But once I was out of school and setting up "my look" for work and casual attire I didn't really use them unless it snowed. I love that they last forever, but the look doesn't suit me or do anything to showcase my figure. They're just a practical thing I take out when it snows and there's nothing else to be done.

Now as me about the awful flip flop trend. (Uuuugh.)

It honestly depends on how hot it is outside and where you're located. I would probably never do this where I live which is SC. It's just always too damn hot in the summer but if I was in LA or somewhere cooler in the summer I would definitely do this cause it is cute as heck.

Well I wear boots all year around I haven't worn anything but boots in probably almost 7-8 years.

And that's partly because of the nature of my job and because I just don't like shoes. But yeah just cowboy boots and cowboy style work boots.

Depends on boots. I have military boots for walking in the forest, they are made of special textile material and leather, need to be coated with impregnation spray after washing.
Boots on these pics look heavy and without thick socks are such boots not really comfortable to wear. Full leather boots aren't a thing for summer, that's why wandering and military boots are made mostly from special textiles like Gore-tex that leaves vapor out and doesn't let water in.

Sexy and attractive with bearing legs (revealing legs) outfits, IE short shorts, micro skirts, mini summer dress. My girlfriend and her mum wear too high heels boots with figure hugging tight fitting hipster shorts (covering up to the edge of buttocks), similarly akirt and dess too, just a like above outfits  Especially on evening outing.. You ahorts wear too.

I will never understand the "fashion acceptance" of boots like that worn with the things in the photos above, or with dresses. Just my opinion, but I think it looks horrible together.

its all i ever wear at this point. i'm a 5'8" man, and i like the idea that they "give me a lift". So, until heels become normalized for men, again, notice i said, again, im basically only going to wear boots from now on

Definitely not in 80°F weather and heat. The sweat buildup is bad for your feet, boots, and hydration. Good tip is, if you sweat from sun and/or heat exposure, it's too hot for boots.
