I’m very glad for our European privacy laws. 70-80% of men on our beaches or pools are using this sort of swimwear. I don’t get the puritanical drama.
Maybe PusShe will show up and drop a sentence or two about them encouraging fornicatiiiooon, who knows? 🤷‍♂️

I wear them occasionally in the US- usually in private pools or out boating, opting for more socially acceptable swim shorts when at public pools most of the time, but if I have to wear shorts I opt for 3" inseam, no need to hide my thighs from everyone.

I don't see a problem. I'm happy to wear them because I have muscular thighs, but most people don't, so I don't.

I believe everyone should wear what makes them comfortable, especially at the beach or pool where relaxation and fun with family are the main goals. The Today Show has sucked for years now. I watched it religiously for much of the first decade of the 2000s, but when they fucked over Ann Curry, I instantly hit the eject button and moved over to CBS when Charlie Rose was there. But he got fired during #MeToo and then, after Norah O'Donnell left, it became the Gayle King Minority Show. Don't get me wrong: I like Gayle King. But the show transitioned from being a good show with good journalists to becoming an ersatz Today Show. And Good Morning America on ABC was always crap so I never watched that. I miss Robin Meade on HLN's "Morning Express".

Anyway, this is one reason why I stopped watching TV altogether.

It was honestly just talk on a talk show, some humor will be ‘trigger’ inducing and other will not depending on the individual viewer. Jokes will always be offensive to somebody or some group , I believe we should have a greater discussion when the moment is right. This man took the moment to speak up about his body decisions on what he wears to the beach.

Humor is humor, the only limitation should be the comedian and their writer’s pad.
Speedos and hairy thighs aren’t particularly attractive to most people , though I will say that you deserve to just be ‘free’ and enjoy the beach just like anyone else which he clearly was.

I’m on the side of comedy and side of wearing what you are comfortable with in a form of self expression. I’m on the side of self expression here. You have a right to express yourself creatively with comedy and or wearing what makes you comfortable.
