Brown heels with black dress pants?

I often wear black, white, beige, and even sometimes red shoes with black pants, but I never think of brown. I have brown hair, so a friend of mine suggested that combination as an "endcap" to match my hair. I kind of like it, now having seen it, but I am wondering what the community here thinks of that combination.

My 2c. No, brown shoes generally do not go with black pants. They clash. You will draw attention to your shoes and people will generally think you threw them on your feet as you headed out the door... unless...

... the shoes are the feature of the outfit and you want a lot of attention... like if you are donning some $1000 gator skin or similar... even then you'll need a bit of swagger to carry it.

I agree, I don't "need" heels, but I'm choosing heels. I've worn flats before with these pants, but this outfit is too dressy for sneakers.

It's healthier to wear sneakers. Heels are not healthy for your feet, spine, and joints.

It is, but moderation is okay, in the same way that you will not become an instant diabetic if you eat one piece of cake.
This question could just as easily work with black pants and brown flats.

Nothing wrong with that 🙂. I have sneakers that I wear, but with more casual pants, skirts, etc., than those. Those particular pants call for dressy footwear.
