Girls, do you prefer guys whom are darker than you?

Question

I don't mean much darker necessarily, but it seems like I rarely see couples where the girl has darker skin and I wonder why that is. It appears like girls want guys with darker skin than themselves. Actually it strikes me as somewhat odd when I see the rare couple with a darker girl, like seeing a pair where the girl is taller. Anyway I thought I would ask what you all think about this. 
on a related note, for white girls who tan themselves heavily, what is the motive there? Does that mean you are only interested in guys who are also heavily tanned or a different rac

I'm as pale as paper but I've fallen in love with my Cuban boyfriend. Though he is the first non-white guy I've ever dated. And I definitely didn't expect to fall for him. I'm the first white non-Latina woman he's dated. But he's also the most muscled guy I've dated and I'm the most hourglass girl he's dated so neither of us are very typical

It seriously doesn't matter to me. I have found guys of a whole variety of skin colours attractive.

I don't really tan (my skin just doesn't) but I know a couple people who do, and they just like the look of their skin darker, their decision to tan has nothing to do with who they might date. At least, for my friends it doesn't.

I have a bizarre hang up where I simply cannot date a guy darker than me. I'm tanner at my palest than my boyfriend is at his tannest and I like it that way.

I have this weird issue where I need to be the tannest in the relationship. My boyfriend is as white as paper. Not a fan of tan guys.

Most of my crushes were guys with lighter skin color. I prefer guys with lighter skin color; however, it doesn't mean that I'll decline a guy's offer to take me out for lunch or such if he happens to be darker than me.

I'm a little bit tan with dark hair and eyes, plus I'm tall - I mostly like short guys, preferably with light eyes and blonde/red hair. Yeah, I'm weird. The only part of "tall, dark and handsome" I actually want is the latter one.

I'm light as heck, it would be near impossible for a guy to be lighter than my without being an albino. Lol. No but seriously, I have to say...mine is pretty brown and I find it sexy. He's hispanic/Mexican American with a fairly dark skin tone. Sexy af. I just have a thing for hispanics though...not surprising since they're the majority in my city. Nothing to really do with skin...just their features. Mine's got these thick straight lashes and full lips and sexy smile. I'm hooked!

I used to like white guys only because I grew up in a place where there are only white guys but once I moved to a multicultural area, I started to like guys who are darker than me

I don't have much of a preference. I'm basically always the one with lighter skin anyway, just because I'm naturally pale, but I don't care if a guy's dark or not.

It's just personal preference. Every girl is different. All of the guys that I've ever been attracted to have been lighter than me, but I wouldn't necessarily decline I relationship with a guy my color or darker, I've just never been attracted to someone who was.
