I'm 17 she's 14 ... we started dating recently ...what do you think about this age gap because I'm about to be 18 in 3 months.

Seems like she is too young.

One rule I have heard is half your age plus seven is the youngest you should date. So half of your age (17) is 8 and a half. 8 1/2 plus 7 is 15 1/2. So according to that rule you should only date girls who are at least 15 1/2-years-old. When you are 18 the age limit would be 16.

I know it is just a stupid rule and it doesn't really mean anything, but I think it is a pretty good guideline.

There isn't anything wrong with it. When you turn 18 you got to be careful around her. If you two want to fool around do it before you turn 18. Look up your state laws concerning this cause you might still be ok even after you turn 18.

you know it's interesting hearing this from a guy's pov cause normally you hear the little girls talking about it. there is no state where it is legal for someone over 18 to have sex with someone 14. so you really need to think about that. I'm guessing you're off to college if you're 18 so if I were you, see where it goes for a little bit but keep your options open

Well once you are 18 she is jail bait so just consider whether or not she is worth going to jail for. It's not that bad as long as you guys don't fool around. I say that, but I think of my 14 year old sister and if you were dating her I'd be kicking your ass right now. So I guess it just depends on the situation.

my husband is 10 years older then me and we started seeing each other when I was 13. that is a bad age gap. not so bad now. yours is not so bad but be careful shen you hit that magic age of 18.
