I have been suffering from (HERPES) disease for the last four years and had constant pain, especially in my knees. During the first year, I had faith in God that I would be healed someday. guys like your boyfriend WON'T be able to get it if you drop them subtle hints. my ex was like that, and for 2 years I dropped subtle hints and he didn't get it. the best is to just tell him that compliments coming from him is important to you, not that you're insecure, but you just want to feel appreciated by him. the thing is men who don't compliment their women, usually think we already know how beautiful/hot/sexy/gorgeous we are and so won't bother to compliment us what we already know is a fact...which isn't true.
Be careful with people who never give compliments where due. I find these people, as a rule, are unhappy and full of criticisms inside (no matter how many smiles they put on), their psyhe are also deeply insecure (lacking in self-esteem) and egotistical in nature. This is why they can never utter a praise, appreciation, or compliment of any kind. No matter how many times you request these kind of people to alter their behavior, it is going to be futile, or at best you get some phony compliments. Trust your gut feelings with this guy.
Every guy is different. I never really used to tell my ex's they were pretty or give them too many compliments. But what I lacked in vocal compliments I made up for physically.
If he's spending all his time with you, kissing you and hugging you, and appreciating you; then you've got a boyfriend who is just different at how he shows his appreciation.

noo he's just stupid. he probably likes you but just kinda started too take you for granted
or maybe he is concerned that he might scare you off. Some girls look at giving compliments as
a sign of weakness. Sounds dumb but its true and maybe he can't tell that your not one of them.
I hope that made sense. Maybe if you drop subtle hints he might pick up on the problem.

i heard once, that if you use the word "still" to a woman, it p*sses her off...hes already got you, and you seem to be pretty happy other than the current problem at hand, so he feels he doesn't need to keep up with it especially using lines like
"baby, you're STILL beautiful"
Maybe he is not that kind of guy, it helps get girls tho.
just ask him if he thinks your beautiful
he will say yes I promise =)
