Does an awkward first hug doom any kind of future relationship?

Even if you have only hugged once, does it usually mean future hugs and the physical beyond is automatically rendered dissatisfying? Does less than invigorating physical contact propel you to break things off before they even start?

Not at all! You shouldn't worry about that. Let me tell you, my boyfriend and I have been together twice now, and the first time we were together, we shared the absolute most awkward kisses (my fault, because I was nervous and it never seemed like the right time)... but now, our kisses are the most amazing thing on the face of this universe and it's unbelievable how insanely in love with him I am and vice versa. So really, if an awkward kiss can't doom a relationship, an awkward hug can't either. Don't overthink, just go for it :-)

When I first met my current boyfriend he picked me up and hugged me... I went limp cause I had no clue what to do, so awkward... but we're stll together and have a 2 year old daughter (: awkward doesn't always mean the future relatiobship is doomed.

No I think all physical contact is awkward sometimes. Sex for the first time.. first kiss.. it can all be awkward every once in a while.

I don't see why a less-than-satisfying initial hug would mean that subsequent hugs (and more) wouldn't be satisfying. Just think of all the people who have probably gotten married after having had an awkward first kiss. So I don't think there's any doom.

Ha ha ha, no. If anything, it'll probably inspire the guy to make sure he gets a proper hug next time. And ideally it'll become something you'll joke about together later. But really, don't worry about it.

Lol no, though I am just not much of a hug person, once people were so intent on getting me to hug this one girl I just had started dating that they ambushed us when she walked into the room someone came up behind me and shoved me into her, well they missed and I took a swinging door to the face then a nose dive into a carpeted concrete floor. Despite that incident we had a happy and loving half a year relationship.

lol, no. Sometimes sex isn't brilliant the first time with a new partner but you work at it. So a bit of an awkward first hug is pretty trivial really. It depends how facile you are I suppose.
