How to flirt with this guy, but not come on too strong?

There's this guy who I find totally attractive. He's new, (kind of) and he's in my math class. All the girls fall all over him but he doesn't seem to pay them any mind. He's really preppy, and usually keeps to himself during class. I have a upper hand though, see because my older brother and his older brother have been bestfriends for 4-5 years. I also see him a ton outside of school because of this. Anyways, Me and the guy have talked before and he seems super sweet and funny (but that was outside of school). So, I'm just wondering how do I get him to open up during class and well how do I just become really close friends in general? I don't want to come on too strong because I have a problem with doing that. All advice is greatly appreciated.

2: might seem awkward but ask him try to find more than 4 thing in common.
3: do before or after step 1. Approach him like a friend.. not a crush but a friend just to out do the chicks and to get closer.
4: well if you become friends real soon ether wait for awhile or not ask him if he's looking for a relationship or not if so do you think we have a chance?
Risky yea but usually i try to be friends with a chick or draw them a picture to boost my chance.. oh tip do the opposite of the girls he rejecting if they come on strong with "will you date me?" And he says no then you dont and if you're friends then you got a bigger chance

I would say talk a bit, ask him to hangout at some point, use winky faces after a while of texing n shit.

Start asking him questions about the math homework even if you know the answers. And if he doesn't know a problem then the next day say, "hey I found out how to do, I can show you if you want. " then you can ask if he has the same classes as you and etc. Don't make it an everyday thing because he might get annoyed. But I'd say about a month into just start touching him. His shoulder or hand or do something like "omg we have a test today!" And touch his arm. It's little things that'll make him think, "is she just really friendly or is she into me? "

I agree, boring is a big turn-off - for both sexes. Tough thing for shy folks as they SEEM boring, but just have a hard time talking and feeling comfortable saying who they are, what they like, etc.

Why would you want to do that? If you like him, go for him. If you don't, make sure he knows it. Flirting with the wrong guy may put you in danger so live your life happily but carefully.
