My girlfriend is very independent and we hardly see each other. What do I do?

My girlfriend and I have been serious for two months and I have deep feelings for her and she has them for me. But one thing continues to bother me. She is very independent and likes doing a lot of things by herself. Not like she doesn't like to see me, but just that she needs a lot of alone time.

Now I have been with women who require alone time or girl time, but this is ridiculous. Our schedules are not that bad...she goes to school twice a week and I work Monday to Friday. Whenever I ask her to hang out or watch a movie, she says she is tired or just wants to chill. In the past two weeks, we have only seen each other 3 times! I have tried discussing this with her and she said she loves hanging out with me but she needs alone time cause she she is used to being alone. She hasn't been in a serious relationship in awhile and she said she is still getting used to being with someone.

Then she'll tell me she misses me and wants to go out. What gives?

First of all, I would love to commend her for maintaining a strong sense of emotional independence. Too many magazines like 'Cosmo' and 'Glamour' have women consistently pre-occupied about finding the PERFECT MAN, that they fail to find themselves in the process. She is evaluating herself, and enjoys being alone. Due to the fact that she did not hurry into another serious relationship after her last relationship ended says a lot about her character. I think, eventually, the two of you will get closer, but it will be a gradual process. She will have to get accustomed to the idea of being in a relationship again. If you really want to be with her, then you will have to be patient.

FYI..She really does like you. NOTHING GIVES!

Women are different. Not all of us are emotionally co-dependent. But it does not mean we do not love you. We're complicated creatures. On her down time, she may not call you, but may be thinking about you, and smiling. Know this for sure. She WANTS to be with you. Just ask yourself "Is she worth the wait?"

Dude I have the same thing going on and sometimes it kills me. But I love her and she loves me what makes it extremely difficult is she's a bartender works a lot and all ther friends are mostly dudes. I'm a close person when it comes to relationships I like my girl around a lot and she's not but when she is it's perfect. I'm sticking it out even tho sometimes I get close to bouncing. It's tough but worth it and I think it'll be better when she gets use to the idea of the relationship like what the other reply said. Let me know how your situation is going
