I’m a law student in the US and I love going to the gym, I go 4-5 times a week. If I could I’d add extra days to the week just to lift some more weights in-between rest days. I think I’m pretty good looking, fit and smart.
There’s this super cute male receptionist who works there. At fist, I didn’t really notice him much, until he started greeting me by name out of nowhere and asking me how I’m doing, without me even knowing his name.
During these past few weeks the whole thing has kind of evolved. He also works at my campus, so he’s seen me once or twice there as well. The other day he didn’t charge me for something that I bought, sometimes he’ll take over when someone else is about to attend me at the reception desk (going to them like “Go do something else, I’ll take care of this”), he’ll come out of his working space (literally form behind the reception desk) to talk to me when I’m standing nearby. He gives me these huge smiles with those bright brown eyes of his and has told me several times how much he likes my sense of humor; He can keep up pretty well with my teasing (I think he’s pretty smart) and sometimes he’ll tease me back. And he remembers stuff that I say.
So my question is… what do I do? Are these real signs? I’d like to get to know him better, see if we can meet up outside the gym and do something fun. I’ve asked guys out successfully before but I don’t know about this. Since he’s pretty good looking I assume he flirts like that with other girls. Plus, maybe he’s not even allowed to date gym members in the first place. Or maybe I just exaggerate stuff in my mind, or perhaps he just talks to me for self-assuring/self-esteem purposes. And I don’t wanna come across as desperate. I don’t really know what to think. My best friend clearly thinks I’m exaggerating things, even if she won’t tell me openly, so I just quit talking to her about it.
