Unnecessary touching, what does it mean?

What does it mean if a guy is always touching you? A guy at work that I like is constantly touching me, if I sit down he'll sit down next to me and we'll end up with our legs touching. Or he was pointing something out to me and leaned so that we were completely touching, heads and all when he could have just pointed it out. Another time when I cut my thumb (his fault) he was giving me a hard time about it and I pointed out that I was bleeding and held up my hand to show him and he covered it with both of his hands. Stuff like that happens all the time but is that normal for friends?
