Guys, how can you tell that a woman is confident? And does it really attract you to a woman?

I guess this question is two-fold...

I always hear that "guys love confident women", but I never hear what the word "confident" translates in guy-speak, and how can you tell when you've just met the girl?

So my questions are...
Guys, how can you tell that a woman is confident? Can you tell just by the way she walks, talks, carries herself, etc? And if so, what signs does she give off?

Also, does a woman being confident really attract you to her? Say for example she isn't your usual "type" that you go for, would you still approach her and possibly ask her out simply because she seems very happy, relaxed, and confident with herself?

I can tell that a woman is confident when she carries herself with certainty, and she seems to be outgoing, and talks more surely of herself. Things like that.

But I'm probably in the minority for this one, but i am turned off by confident women. I have pretty low self esteem myself, so i would be much more comfortable around a woman who also has low self esteem. Also, i find shy and reserved girls to be adorable. And lastly, i have this desire to feel needed. I'm attracted to women who are dependent and somewhat clingy because they make me feel needed and appreciated.

Hmmm... very interesting! It's surprising to me how many are saying that confident women scare/intimidate them. Really? So I guess it's not as "attracting" to guys as they say? lol

I love confident women.

What makes a woman confident is the fact that she's secure in herself, she's comfortable with who she is and what she does, and when she wants something, she's not afraid to go out and get it.

Girls who approach guys also strike me as confident, usually.

A confident woman would be noticed by the way she talks. Where she looks at when she talks. By her reaction when you look at her. Her easiness to smile and laugh. If she walks fast I would also assume that, but there's no point, confident women can walk slow and non confident can be in a rush. How she can make a point in a conversation and stand up for herself.

Personally, it scares me because I'm a shy guy and a behavior like that is intimidating. But most people see it as attractive that she can express herself with confidence.

Some girls are too shy and its just too hard to get along. Its a turn off. On the other hand some girls are too confident and it seems like theyre saying "if you dare to talk to me, Ill humiliate you". Thats a turn off too

So how would a woman being "in between" be acting? In other words... what's the difference in her ACTIONS between a woman who is "confident" and "too shy"? I'm talking about before you have even talked to her/approached her.

I don't know how to explain how you'd know, you just would.

I can tell you this much, I and most guys don't really give two shits if a girl we like is confident or not, as long as she isn't incessantly saying, "I'm fat", "You don't love me", "Why are you looking at her?", etc. Confidence is only something women look for.

Confidence in a woman is intimidating, but its refreshing. It gives guys hope that she's normal and won't get crazy and super attached after like a month. overall, its a good thing.
