Is an 8 on the hotness scale good?

My guy friend and I were talking about whether or not we would date each other and he asked me to rate him.
I rated my attraction to him a 2. (1 being no attraction.) And I'm pretty sure my scale is way different from a guys scale but I don't know.
He was really hurt until I explained what I meant to him. His ego was bruised though, haha.
Anyways, I asked him what I was. He was very hesitant and dodged the question until I pestered him enough. I asked him to rate me honestly, and not to give me a low rating just because I gave him a low one.
He mumbled that I was an 8.
I'm super unfamiliar with how boys rate girls. 8 sounds decent, but is it? What does 8 mean? Is it good? What are some examples of an 8?
And what are the criteria to be an 8?

I'm fairly certain he wasn't lying. I asked him to be straight with me and on was with him.
He also tells me quite often that he can be honest with me because he knows I can handle it.

When a girl asks that to a guy about herself he either avoids the conversation completely, rates 11/10, or says something like "1 of course, haha jk of course you're a 10". what an 8 mean from a guy to guy conversation is that your on the really hot and datable side. Anything about a 7 is hot. But girl to guy, I think he just didn't say 10 because he wanted to make you feel a little down for voting him a 2.

They're also generally older than 16.

An example of an 8 would be Emilia Clarke (from GoT). Very attractive, quite above average, but still not the best.

I don't think it's simple, I know it is. The scale is a bell curve 5s have a lot of unfuckables, anything less than that really doesn't matter, 6 is pretty much limited to having made a terrible decision getting hammered or high and fucking whatever you could. There are a few less 6s than 5s but still a decent overall amount. You get to 7s a girl that's the absolute base level of woman you'd settle to be seen in daylight with. At this point you're getting to a minuscule number of women from each level before. 8 is a reasonably attractive girl probably 1/100 from 7s-8s. 9s are basically the most attractive girl that is currently giving you the time of day 1/1000 of 8s-9s. 10 is the hottest woman you've ever seen and she is your benchmark for all other women. 10s are 1/infinity. 10s supersede just looks, they have to have perfect personality.
