How to properly ignore a girl to create attraction?

So, I've been talking to this girl awhile and am concerned about being friendzoned. She obviously likes talking to me but we talk too much heading towards friend zone and I was worried I was coming off too desperate by not ending the conversation and allowing it to continue instead.

So I've started ignoring her to be more elusive. It's been a week and she texted me today asking why I've been so quiet. So I pulled the whole "I've been really busy lately and haven't been talkative" speel even though that's not true. Then we texted for a few minutes and I ended the conversation this time. But I feel I'm pushing her away by ignoring, which is the opposite of what I want. This is the only way I know of getting out of the friend zone and Im suspecting by my age , people start to outsmart people's games.

But the question is how do remain elusive, a challenge, unpredictable, and basically ignore someone while showing interest at the sametime?

Okay, I decided to cut it out and text her and start talking to her again. But now she's convinced I have a girlfriend now cause I've been distant. But I don't. What do I do now? Also if a girl is concerned about making other girls jealous... does that mean your just a friend and dosent want to push your romantic interests away or is it she's interested and thinks she's only an option?

A lot of guys complain about women they like playing hard to get by ignoring them. Elusive or foolish? It may have the desired effect at first but this reverse psychology will backfire on you sooner or later. Instead of reeling her back in and making her more interested. You will push her away and she'll think you don't even want to be her friend anymore. A shy guy has tried this with me before, because his lurking around after me and invading my space got him nowhere because he was incapable of ever acting on it and couldn't talk to me. So he couldn't have been that serious about me in the first place. Then he started ignoring me and pretending I didn't exist in order to regain my attention, tried talking to other women in attempt to make me jealous I stayed out of his way. I think you should take a more mature approach and discuss this like adults rather than playing these childish games. That guy never knew, that if he had just talked to me, I would have probably given him a chance.

Yeah I tend to be shy. It's harder than you think for a guy to tell a girl you like her. If they don't like you back, they get disgusted and feel betrayed in whatever way. I've manned up before and told a girl I liked her and we'll she didn't like me more than a friend back and she got all pissy with me. She assumed all I wanted was sex which wasn't true at all.. I liked her as girlfriend material. She told me to get out of her face , called me a creep, and If I contact her again , she would call the cops. I somehow betrayed her friendship with me by liking her mote than friends. Some girls are crazy like that and this is what guys have to deal with. Rejection can be more than just rejection... It can be harsh like that. She couldn't just respect me for being honest and growing a pair and handle rejecting me in a mature fashion. If girls were mature about it, I wouldn't be so damn shy. The last time I poked my head out of my shell, it almost got shot clean off!!

Is it really that much harder for a shy guy to tell a girl he likes her than it is for a shy girl to tell a guy that she likes him? I was once shy myself, I had crushes I through high school and I couldn't even talk to them because I turned into a quivering wreck every time I clapped eyes on them. It got me absolutely nowhere. I knew I had to snap out of it. I've told guys I liked them too, because they flirted with me a lot. It turned out that they were already paired off. The last one I told, turned out to be the same and had the audacity to give me a patronizing hug, then talk about me behind my back to his friends. Guys aren't exactly all that mature about it either, especially when they can mess women around like this. Granted, I haven't got a boyfriend yet.

But I still haven't given up. Like it said, the last guy missed his opportunity with me because he spent so much time lurking and dithering around. When he stood next to me all he could do was pretend to look busy. He never acted on it so I got fed up and moved on. That was three years ago. When I see him now, he still watches me talking to other people like he's jealous or something. My point is, that no matter the outcome. The person who has the crush should always make the first move. The mistake they make is wearing their heart on their sleeves right away. They should get to know the person better before doing so. Read the signals and body language. If they are into you, they'll let you know. So now I just talk to guys and get to know them first before I make my move. Its a better way to avoid rejection. If I find out they've got gfs. Then I still talk to them but don't ask them out. If I'm picking up certain vibes that they like me too, then that's a good start.

Well that's what I'm trying to do... getting to know girls before making a move... it makes making a move easier. But popular dating advice and other guys have got it drilled into my head that you have to make a move right away or your seen as a friend and get friendzone and any attractiveness you have fades away. When pressured like that, it's extremely hard to make a move and then I usually shut down and dont. Maybe the crush should make the first move but it can be completely nerve wracking cause having feelings for someone leaves you completely vulnerable and the person is an ass and doesn't like you... they won't just politely reject you but they'll make a fool out of you and tell everyone.

Yep I know I've list count how many I've been through it. Guys think they've got it really bad, but its more or less the same for single women looking for something serious too. That's what a few female friends told me aswell. Note, I'm not friends with them anymore not just because they gave me shit advice but for a lot of other reasons. But nah, I've learned my lessons from diving in and wearing my heart on my sleeve, and procrastinating and leaving it until its too late to act. Its getting the balance right really. Don't act too soon before you even know anything about them and don't leave it too late or they'll think that your not serious about them, get fee up and move on. I've been slated, but you just have to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and look for someone new. People that lead you on and make a fool of you aren't worth agonising over. 1- She doesn't want to date you. Your persistence will make her have to PUSH you away, and that way you will find out that she really doesn't want to date you, AND you will definitely be out of the friendzone and into the avoid zone.

But I'm guessing what you want is to manipulate her into wanting you. And I don't think that would end in a happy relationship anyway.

First of all, every relationship is different depending on the person and just the vibe you both have, so that stuff will never work on all... all women are different anyway, so one thing will never work on all. Second, honestly, I know it's a cliché, but it really is best to be yourself. She'll either like you or she won't, and you'll both know early on.

Often, they give bits of advice and then you'll find they have a book to sell on picking up women or something else to pay for. The free advice is to lure you in usually.

Instead of just saying you like her, maybe compliment her also. Tell her she's hot, sexy etc... Make sure she knows it's not just friendly.

Just flirt more on top of compliments maybe. It's easy for a girl to start seeing you as a friend instead if you're not flirting and showing obvious interest. So less friendly, more flirty. Like it's good to be nice and gentlemanly, but make sure you're also being very flirty on top of that.

The things you compliment her on- not just saying she's pretty, more saying she's hot/sexy, not just that she's nice more that you feel you both click or she's different to other girls, things like that. Ignore most of the comments from girls, they sound like your mom telling you girls will like you if you're super sweet to them: being super available and not ending conversations will only work if she's already smitten with you. These girls also seem to be reasoning from the perspective of a very insecure girl who requires guys to do something that backfires 90% of the time (with other girls) to cover up her own insecurity. If you're still building up attraction you indeed need to appear a bit less available. Doing it with only one is silly, if you've talked for a while just come out with it and ask her out. Because I don't know where I stand with her. Ignoring her is also to gauge interest. And so far it seems like she's ignoring me and not trying to intiate anything. So you're showing *too* much interest to the point they're uncomfortable and feel the need to pull back. Perhaps these girls were just being friendly and not actually as into you as you initially thought? Girls can be friendly with guys without having a single romantic thought about them. We don't even have to find them attractive to talk to them. It comes easy to us. I think you're picking up signals that aren't there and when you respond to their friendliness with romantic interest, they pull away. It happens. Rejection happens. Ignoring girls isn't going to make them chase you. Coming on too strong isn't going to make them chase you. You just have to pace yourself and keep taking chances and learn to move on to the next.

@WillowTree I know the difference between friendly and romantic interest. I'm talking about girls who clearly have a romantic and sexual interest. Some I've gone on romantic dates with where I thought we were hitting it off really well. Then been basically dumped the next day after someone having a huge crush on me. Makes no sense. It's like once I start to like the person back, they lose interest. And again these are people who have clearly had a crush on me. But thing is they only had a crush only when I was still a challenge. Once the challenge is not there anymore, they lose interest.

I think that'll be a good idea to "say that and comes out of nowhere." i know that it will be embarrassing but think again, that will be the time that she will be forced to speak. Show her that you are getting pissed off and talk to her about the "ignoring" part. It's 50/50 tho. There's a chance that you guys will be cool with each other again but the other one is that she might get angry than ever but you have the decision. I just think that i'll be better to show her that what she's doing right now is making you pissed off so bad.
