Why is this girl I like giving me mixed signals?

This girl liked me and waited a long time for me to make a move (like almost a year). She gave me all the signs like blushing whenever I was around and talking to her, staring at me from afar, waving, being really shy, etc. I lacked confidence and was only able to tell her recently that I like her. She seemed frustrated and blew me off unexpectedly. She would not look me in the eyes, was staring at the floor, and said that she didn't want to talk to me. So, I decided to leave it alone and did not talk to her since.

A week after this happened, I catch her sneaking looks at me. She would look at me, then look down, and look at me again through the corner of her eyes. She blushes and acts flirty when walking past me with her friends. They smile at me too. She sees me and walks faster but then turns around to look at me. When I am walking by her and her friends, she talks loudly as if to get my attention. She came and stood near me with her head down pretending to do something else. Our mutual friend kept telling me to go sit beside her in class. She was watching me from a distance, then came and started talking to the people beside me, looking over their shoulders to look at me and quickly looking away.

She kind of blew me off already but her actions don't match her words. She also seemed a little hurt and frustrated at the time when she blew me off.

With me, though, I tend to assume that too many "mixed signals" actually means "obvious signals of no interest."

I get the lines from a lot of girls who claim they miss me or haven't seen me in ages... Or that they really want to get to know me better - but when I offer to spend time with them, or invite them out (safe areas, too) I get the no shows, and ignoring texts or phone calls.

You have to look at what people do, (especially girls of a certain demographic), more than what they say. It's sad that what they say isn't really backed up with what they do, but I guess that's life.

I had a "date" I got stuck in traffic for. I was really really late. Apologized like crazy. And texted her with updates the second I realized I would be late. I also invited her to several events ( early each time) - I showed up to support a few of her events as well. I've shown consistent interest, even when things have happened that couldn't be helped. I figure if a woman doesn't back up what she says, she doesn't really mean it.

It stinks, but you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and look for someone who's behavior matches what they say... It'll save you a lot of stress.

She isn't giving you mixed messages. Her message is clear - she likes you. But women don't want to hear that you like them. Women want you to act on it. This seems pretty legit, so here's what you need to do.

Ignore her for about a week. Be laughing, be social, and be busy with other people, but don't be rude. Wait for when she's alone and make your move. When you do, be close enough to her for her to smell your cologne and get a sense of how tiny she is compared to you. Speak confidently about questions she can answer. In other words, if she's not into sports don't talk about sports. If she's into music, talk to her about that. Like find out her favorite music and say "I heard this lyric from so and so and it reminded me of you. . . "

As one i can kinda tell what she doin.. She likes that you like her and wants you to continue to want her. But she obviously dosent have the self confidence to match.

She wants you to like her, she's enjoying teasing you and she's enjoying the thrill of the chase type thing but she doset really desire the person on the other end.
My best guy friend had that happen to him for years is was so sad to watch.

My suggestion is that you try looking at other girls, keep her on the side if you want to i know how hard it is to get over a crush. But expand a little, you'll either actually find someone else or, seeing you with someone else will force her to have the courage to come to terms with her feelings.

Maybe your lack of action gave her the impression you have been rejecting her? If she put up with almost a year of that, how else do you expect her to respond? Did you figure the moment you showed the slightest interest she would jump in your arms, like a fairy tale movie?

Sometimes just approach her in the class during recess and ask her to lend you her note book. next day when you return her book back , put a not in the book asking her out for a date. Then watch what she does. if she likes you , she will give you a favorable reply.

First of all props for saying you like her to her face, that's crazy courage man. Seems like you already took care of the hard part. I think for her actions speak louder than words, so be considerate & thoughtful and use that to make her like you so much that next time you say those words she'll agree.

Girls don't act this way to their "friends." If it was too late for the guy she wouldn't be giving him all these signals and putting herself out there wherever he seems to be. She was probably a little hurt when she blew him off but then realized her mistake. She seems to really like him a lot.
