Guys, why would a guy keep looking at a girl like this if he's not interested?

I have been looking at this cute guy i work with for a long time and since the first day he noticed me looking he has been returning my looks and we always lock eyes, the eye contact is very frequent and intense and prolonged. since i've started looking at him i have also cought him staring at me many times and turning away fast, and this keeps happening. even if i completly ignore him i catch him looking at me.

But here is the thing i don't understand, this guy never makes a move or even tries to talking to me, he is shy tho. and also i just found out that he has a girlfriend that he lives with!
so now i feel like he's obviously not interested... it's been almost a year now of this "staring contest" and i really don't get why the hell he keeps returning eye contact like this? and look at me when im not looking? shouldn't he been avoiding me from the start? i really don't get

Most guys have this fear of being rejected, or thinking that the girls already has boyfriend, therefore we tend to not make a move. If he has a girlfriend, either he doesn't love his girlfriend or he just thinks you are attractive.

So it's one of the two? so he wouldn't keep looking back at me for this long if he only wondered why i was looking at him so much? or simply just looking back because i look at him?

Well if I have never stared at a girl that I never talked to for more than 2 seconds. Usually its a quick glance. But if he stared at you for more than 10 seconds, either he likes you OR he doesn't want to appear submissive. What I mean by that is some people tend to stare at others until the other person looks away. If he does this all the time, i woukd just ask him and get an answer.

well the thing is many times he is the one who looks at me first, and half of the time when i look back at him he holds eye contact and the other times he turn away really fast when i catch him looking. I mean yes i started this, but he obviously looks at me even when im not looking at him

Guys dont look at girls for more than 1 second if they are not attracted to them. so he is most likely attracted to you, but doesn't want to approach you.

i don't really know how long he looks at me but it's longer that normal eye contact. but also would he even care to keep making this frequent eye contact with me everyday for almost a year if he weren't into me?

And also what do you think he's plan is with this? i mean he has a girlfriend and he's obviously not gonna make a move but still he keeps looking at me like this?

Probably not. There are girls that I know im attracted to and tend to maintain eye contact if I see them.

Well you dont how his relationship with his boyfriend is. They might have issues. I know a girls who has a boyfriend who maintains eye contact with me when she sees me. Its almost like she wants to get my attention, but thrn again she has a boyfriend. Honestly you will never know unless you talk to them.

I have actually thought about that, but he is very shy and really nice, doesn't talk much and kind of a loner. and that is not a player.
