What is the best way to end something that never started?

Things weren't, and I don't think ever will be, official with the guy I'm talking to at the moment. I'm just really starting to see through him I guess? I used to think he was really sweet, but now I think he's just a charmer. How do I end it without sounding mean, and I just can't stop talking to him because I would feel horrible. He said he wants to talk about us being serious when he comes home from visiting family, so what advice do you have for me...like what could I say?

you could just end contact between you 2 and let it all fade away in time.

You can approach him and say " sorry but I don't think this will work out, I like you but your just not my type" (... all though... if you already ask advice... you will never get enough courage to do this... but, still the best way to end it ^^)

Think of a random excuse that would make it all end? " My perents won't let me see you anymore?" (yea lmao.. that's patheatic, you think of a better 1)

I am the one who is confused because I don't know what you discovered to make you think you are "seeing tthrough him".. What did he do? Can't really judge him if we don't know what he did to change your mind. Do you want to share?

He used to send me all this romantic crap, but he texts his ex girlfriend in front of me all the time, and when I told him that I wouldn't stay with him over night until we were officially together he got scared and backed off for like a week....I don't know I feel like if it was "love at first sight" for him, he would jump at the chance to be with me.
