He becomes distant after making out/fooling around

My boyfriend and I haven't been together for that long.. And he really likes me because he is the one who always makes the first move.. Asks me out on dates, writes me messages.. But I have noticed that he becomes quite distant after making out and more.. He has never had a girlfriend before and is quite shy.. But for example yesterday... we talked for hours.. He opened up.. Then he started kissing me.. And after fooling around he couldn't even look me in the eye.. I don't get it

i know the feeling. I don't have a foolproof answer but what I usually do especially if were like watching a movie or something is go make him a sandwich or fix my makeup- you know disappear for a few minutes- then suddenly reappear and attack him with little kisses all over (dont bring the sandwich for surprise purposes- bring it back later, trust me hell be grateful) you don't have to worry about him not responding because hell barely know what hit him.

if he laughs and thinks its cute and/or funny I usually try and wrestle him out of his shirt just so I have more skin to cover, but if he's still kind of grumpy I give him a tickle and just curl up next to him and pout in silence until he gets mad at me for being a limp noodle.

or I start playing with his limp noodle ;)
