A little PSA for you girls about the difference between "Cute" and "Hot/sexy"?

So I've seen a few posts where a girl would complain about how people only call her cute and she eventually takes it as an insult. Listen up. Cute, hot, beautiful, sexy, etc, ARE ALL compliments that mean you're attractive, just in different ways. A trend I've noticed and kinda agree with is that "cute" is more of an innocent and lovable kinda beauty, whereas hot/sexy is more of a sexual kinda beauty. Just because someone calls you one doesn't mean you can't be the other too. If I call a girl cute it doesn't mean she isn't someone I could ever look at in a sexual way, and if I call a girl hot/sexy It doesn't mean I'm only attracted in a lustful way. If a guy calls you any of those things (Cute, sexy, hot, etc) it is a compliment, and it just shows what kind of beautiful he thinks you are. Also, keep in mind every guy has different opinions and not all of us will view you the same. Do you guys agree with me? Do any of you have a different opinion? Have you ever been annoyed because you are only called on but not the other?

I’ve always liked cute over hot. All of my gfs have been cute, one got jealous of a friend who’s taller and skinnier looked more like a fashion model but I wanted nothing to do with sexually. My girlfriend had these pretty almond shaped eyes and was petite but kind of busty too, she was sexier to me. I’m into the girl next door types, celebrities I crush on are usually like B-list actresses and YouTube personalities and stand up comedians other guys might not notice as much. There’s also been times where I’ll see a girl who has unique features and I’ll comment on how I like them and my guy friends disagree with me because she doesn’t have that cookie cutter model look. It’s the same as my idiot friend who works a corporate office job and assumes that anyone who doesn’t have a job like him either lacks the confidence or ability to do it and not that they simply don’t want that life. I just don’t subscribe to standards for women that were set by homosexual fashion designers in the first place.

Ya that's right.
But it does get a little annoying from both sides. Because more "attractive" is seen as hot. And if you're NEVER called anything but cute. It gets annoying sometimes. Most people would like to be hot or both. Rather than just cute. No offense but cute is less attractive by lots of people's views. I've found at least.

Yeah, I can see why people would think that too. I just want people to know being called cute all the time is better than never being told anything, because it means people still find you attractive

I guess. But still.. I'd rather be called hot or sexy once in my life. Than cute once a day my whole life. Cute is used to mean many things. And attractive is only one of them. Some people just mean cute. Not cute in an attractive way. Just. That.
And they never specify what they mean. Hot only has two meanings. And if you aren't dripping sweat you know what they're talking about.
Cute is just more vague and generally less attractive. I know it's still a compliment. But not in the same way a lot of times.

From never getting called cute, or hot, or sexy, to being called those I really dont care what they mean they just find me something that isn't negative. Like yeah call me cutie I eat the up. Love it. Lol I agree with it being more of an innocent look and the others more sexual and beautiful, and all those that intertwine with it are more of a I don't know they are different. But if you take offense to be getting a compliment and it not be the one you want you need to humble yourself.

What about being called 'attractive'? Isn't that a lesser compliment?

Not really in my opinion, it is just not specific. Like, to me, pretty has obviously always been a facial compliment. Sexy has always been more of a body focused one (Though it does focus on the face a bit too). Attractive just means something about you is good looking to them. Every guy uses things differently though

Actually if I'm complimenting s girl for the first time and I feel shy, I'll often say attractive cause it just feels more appropriate and it tells her you like how she looks without giving away details, which is good if you're just looking to START flirting with that compliment.
