Girls, what's the best way for me to ask a girl out?

I want to ask this girl to the school dance (I'm 14.) We've been friends for a bit now, and her boy best friend (who isn't interested in her) has given me hints that she might want to go with me.

I can probably ask her alone because we share the same homeroom and our lockers are close to each other, but what's a good pickup line that probably wouldn't ruin our friendship and make it awkward?

If someone could answer to this soon (The dance is on the 11th of June) that would be great, thanks! :))

Pickup lines are cheesy and this girl is a friend, so be sincere with her and she will respect you. "Hey, you know there's a dance on June 11 and I could go by myself, but I'd really rather go with you. May I take you to the dance?"

If it's a formal dance, perhaps take a flower or something small and ask her if she'll go with you. (Ask her soon so that it doesn't look like a last-minute invite and also to make sure she's still available.)

Directly? Muster up the courage and just ask! Just a word of caution: if she is a friend and you value that friendship be careful. I messed up senior year and dated a lifelong friend and it was never the same again. We had lost the friendship. I still regret that immensely

She correct. Simple honesty is your best bet and I know it's rich coming from a man, but it's best to get your advice from a girl who's straightforward and not from random men. Men can be really stupid when it comes to women and yet they think they're some kind of love gurus
