Was wondering if guys could help me with this?

So this guy knows I like him, nothing has happened between us as the timing isn't good apparently, according to him. Since the night I've told him, we've been talking a lot more. I'm still noticing some minor flirting coming from his end but yet I've noticed on his facebook when other girls start getting flirty, he stops talking or just ignores the comment all together. So I did a test comment to see if he'd answer me *nothing too extreme* and he did. Also, he seems to be remembering little things I've said, one thing being something that even a few good female friends of mine couldn't remember. And now apparently I'm the best friend he has, not the "best friend" though, if that makes any sense?

And if it makes a different, just a few weeks before I did tell him I liked him, two friends of mine caught him staring, more than once and I'd look back and he was still staring at me and didn't look away when I caught him.

Does the "the timing isn't right, it's nothing against you personally" sound like a legit answer or is it just an excuse?

Sounds like, from what you said about him, he is really digging you. It really could be that maybe he was really hurt by someone before and is just taking things slow. You did right by telling him that you liked him. Because you can clearly see the attention coming your way. But just take it slow with him. He could be really not ready. Just keep doing what you are doing and I'm sure you will break down his barrier soon enough. Like I said, he could be just really nervous to letting someone in, but he clearly is digging you.

I never thought of that. But you could be right. After I told him I said I felt like an idiot given what he did say, but he told me that he's sorry I feel that way and that he can assure me there's no reason to feel like an idiot, but never said anything else.
