To me, the idea of a guy being "too serious" is something that I haven't heard defined by girls on this website. So I'm asking for input.
Thank you. :)
its a real turn off. when they start with the whole "i love you" and want commitment really early, and keep questioning me during a date. really, I just want a guy I can become friends with on a date, and just have a laugh with. a good sense of humor and the ability to laugh at ones self is what is most attractive for me.
It's common for girls to say this. But, why don't you first try to focus on positive things about him?You might find that there's more to him than just being uptight. ^^ Nobody's perfect, get to know more about him, if you really don't like the things he could offer then that's it. It's up to you what to do next.

yeah it can be a turnoff. I used to work with this guy who I knew was feeling me, but he was too serious and a little boring. in contrast, another guy liked me and he was fun, relatable, charming and easy to talk to
this one guy I used to talk to...he was never able to take a joke, or took it too literally. I found him too serious and no fun.
another way of being "too serious" is never crackin a smile, being tooo uptight, etc
