I love blood. It just fascinates me. Is this weird?

I tried cutting on myself tonight because I wanted to watch myself bleed. I wanted to watch it ooze out of my wound, trickle down my arm, and drip onto the counter. I also tried licking my wound.

I did it with a razor blade which worked quite well after I failed with the manicure scissors.

So ya am I totally f***ed up for doing this? I just love seeing blood...I think it symbolizes how alive we really are! Oh and I'm not like, depressed or anything. I'm even on an antidepressant drug right now. My life is going good, I just am going through a bloody phase? hhaha Do you think this is weird?

I will say, first, that I don't think a fascination with blood is weird in itself. Its for the same reason that people are fascinated with horror flicks and thrillers. Blood and ooze from monster movies or such.

On the flip side... I do think its extremely harmful... and possibly psychologically damaging that you would enjoy and go to the extent of cutting yourself. Its almost like an obsession now. I would hope that by phase you mean, "this once." but I would stop altogether. Its like saying, "I'm fascinated with people that have a microphone box for their voice, so I'm smoking 20 packs a day so I can get lung cancer and get one for myself!" I'd say also... be honest to yourself for why you feel you like blood so much ... especially if this is a new thing, and get your mind off of it, since its becoming unhealthy. If it continues, ask for help from a parent, friend, or professional.

This can lead you to becoming a serial killer, one that gets off on watching blood come out of their victims. I'm not saying it will but its a possibility. You should seek help as soon as possible.. Luckily that is all you are fascinated with, but this is one way for it to come out. Also because you are a girl there is even a slimmer chance that this phase will lead to serial killing. Whereas guys have a higher possibility when starting out like this. Take all of what I am saying with a grain of salt, except the get help part. You should definitely do that.

Sometimes people can be on anti-depressants or anti-psychotics, and they aren't the right ones for them. Sometimes the medication can make the psychosis or episodes worse, or give you something else entirely.

I don't wish to alarm you either, and no, you're not totally f***ed, but I do suggest you go to someone you trust and tell them you think something might be wrong.

If It were anything else, I would say that you're an emo idiot who needed sorting out, but with your age bracket, and the fact that you're on meds, and "doing well", this isn't right.

No I haven't really missed. It's a new Zoloft prescription but it's generic so doesn't cost as much.

I'm like that too. I've been diagnosed wiht clinical depression so sometimes I cut myself, when I do I get insanely turned on though and sometimes I'll lick it up. I have an obsession iwht blood. I don't know what it is. But no. you are not weird at all! But I guess these are two different things .. :P

I can relate to this, and your reason for the fascination. I haven't purposely made myself bleed [except maybe picking scabs] since I was like 15, and haven't really felt any desire to. But I can understand the appeal and curiosity that inspired you to do so, lol. =]

Interesting. I think as long as you aren't losing an unhealthy amount of blood, and you aren't emotionally f***ed up you should be fine. It's weird for sure, but not a huge deal. If a girl I liked was doing that though, I would be pretty sad.

Im exactly the same. I get a thrill out of seeing myself bleed. And I can't quite figure what it is that fascinates me. Its not a Sexual thing or a depression thing. But it is the violent element of it that excites me. I often fantasize about being in violent situations and smearing my hands and face with the blood of the victims. I also love the feeling of bleeding after a fight. I find it exhilarating and kind of empowering.
