Buff/Muscular guy having trouble talking to girls?

Okay, if a girl see a tall guy who's buff and he take care of himself but he's very shy, is it a turn off or something? because most of the time they look very masculine and intimidating, so they don't really look shy.

I ask this question because I'm tall/buff and very shy, and girls don't make the first move with me so it's hard to approach one and they think I am not interested (I turn red very easily when I talk to a girl I like, it's difficult for me to talk).

I just don't like approaching guys in general. The last time I approached a guy I had about 10 drinks in me (it was a friends 21st, I don't normally have 10 drinks in a night) and had to be dragged over by a friend to a guy I'd been eyeing all night and could only manage a painfully awkward conversation and then I threw up outside the bar about 20 minutes later (could've been from nerves or the drinks). With guys that are tall, muscular, and attractive I would never approach one because I assume they're either assholes, already have a girlfriend, or that they're just way out of my league. I'm not ugly or anything and people always tell me I'm cute but I'm not super model hot by any means and that's the kind of girls those guys tend to date.

They probably aren't thinking you're shy...when I see buff guys at the gym they look confident to me. And they don't have to be necessarily socializing for me to say that. Just standing there lifting weights...So yeah they probably see you as intimidating. Try to relax a bit more...talk to more people, smile... =)

Aww that's so cute! I think a shy guy is refreshing to be with after the assholes I've dated! I would date you in a heartbeat! And that's saying a lot considering I haven't seen a picture of you.

The ladies will definitely notice you but they aren't going to approach you because it's the male role to do the approaching.

Almost all women want to be approached first by the guy. If you don't believe me just read the thousands of questions on here by girls wanting to know why he hasn't asked her out yet or how she can make him ask her out. Women think it's romantic to be asked by a guy to do anything with them and especially to be a girlfriend (or wife) so they just sit and wait and wait for you to ask. Of course I'm sure they fear rejection by you like you fear from them but men aren't expected to show fear so it ends up being our role to do all the asking.

in general, being shy is a turnoff to girls.

but it doesn't matter if it is a turn off or not, because its hard to start a relationship at all if you are shy.

you are going to have to work on becoming less shy.

try to talk to everyone you get a chance to.

make eye contact with strangers and smile, say hi.

if you are waiting in line, start a conversion with the people around you.

if you do this enough, you will start finding it much easier to talk to people.
