Can I shoot my shot with a senior as a sophomore?

I’m a sophomore in high school and this senior football player continues to stare at me at school. We know of each other because we both did track (back when I was a freshmen) and he was gushing over my athletic ability during one my races he watched. Now, on specific days we work at the same place at the same time at my Campus job (I go to a K-12 private school) and he’s either looking at his phone when I’m looking or staring at the younger kids we work around, but then I would catch him just looking at me. Another occasion was when I was walking to get food after my campus job at the snack bar at school and again, he was staring me down. Supposedly a week ago, I wasn’t able to make the football game and my friends claim he was looking in their direction (he knows them because in Freshmen year he asked them what my name was) “looking for me”, but I don’t really know if that’s true. Should I talk to him first? What should I do? What does him staring mean?

It might be helpful for those of us who don't live in America to know what exactly is a sophomore what year is that and how old are you how old is he

I live where high school starts in year 7 and ends in 12 we have no freshmen or sophomores so I have no idea how old you both are or what year you are both in

Out of the 12 grades, high school is only 4 of them.
9 freshmen (14-15 y. o. — 2005/2004)
10 sophomore (15-16 y. o. — 2004/2003)
11 Junior (16-17 y. o. — 2003/2002)
12 Senior (17-18 y. o. 2002/2001)

Those in grades 9 and 10 are considered underclassmen (which is what I am), while those who are in grades 11 and 12 and considered upperclassmen.
