Why does he always talk to her and not me when we are standing together?

So you know how you start to think "hey maybe he really likes me" and then he does something that makes you second guess again? Well that keeps happening to me. yesterday was a great day because he initiated conversation with me and was joking around with me and he was trying to find out a little about me more. well this is what he did today (and yesterday too) that makes me second guess. Well actually this is about the only thing he does to make me second guess.

Whenever I am with my friend, he always talks to HER and not me. Like I am standing right there and he just ignores me.

example: the bell was about to ring and my friend was sitting in the desk in front of me. he and his friend came and he put his stuff on her desk (we were all standing up). And his friend gave her a piece of gum and the guy I like said "why would you give her a piece of gum? she is a demon." and I started laughing and he was like nah I'm just kidding.(but she is sort of mean to him). and then he joked around with her a little yesteday too.

So my question is this: why does he ignore me and talk to her?

i never see him talk to her unless I am right there with her.

my other friend said it was a way to get to me, without having to talk to me. he feels more comfortable talking to her.

he is doing it to make you jealous. If he had any real feelings for her they would both leave you alone and not come back. I have had this done plenty of times by girls I liked. He is most likely seeing if you like him or not. If he sees it upsets you he will keep it up because it lets him know your true feelings be known. You said it yourself he only talks to her when you are around otherwise I am sure he likes you and is just waiting for you to show some interest.

Try talking to one of his friends when he is around. And ignore him. I had a girl say nothing to a guy I hated I'd always ask what did she say to him and she would say "she didn't say nothing" but when I was around she'd give him a kiss. It's a jealous tactic and it works.

yeah your friend is right. He probably really likes you. I used to do that. Its an easy way to be near the girl you like but not make things awkward. and when other guys are around don't expect much out of him. Guys get intimidated by what their friends may think
