How can you get to know someone at work who works in a different department than you?

I work at a hospital, and I have a crush on a guy that works in a completely different department than I do, so I don’t run into him very often. But I REALLY, REALLY wish I could get to know him. Have any of you ever experienced this in the workplace (especially if you’ve worked for a fairly large organization) and gotten to know someone you were interested in who works in a different department than you? My point is, does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? If so, then thank you I would appreciate it! 😊

Ok, so you basically need to creatively manufacture a way to socialise with him, in a way that allows you to finally talk to him, but not make it too obvious that you really like him.

Organise some kind of charity fundraiser for a worthy cause, which will need men and women, and approach suitable candidates (Him and his colleagues).

have you looked him up on IG or FB? You must know something about him, and he may know about the same. hand him your phone number or something. Ask him about next weekend

best way is to go for it before you can over think it maybe tell him something about yourself and ask him about the same topic I'm very bashful myself and I will ask them about anything, even the weather lol. get him talking

In your case it is super easy to make the first move because you are a girl. You will be more than welcomed. But as a man I have to think twice before any move I'm going to do because as a man rejection is a big risk that may have a bad effect on how confident you are I think

I met my recent ex at work, she worked for the title department and I worked as an inspector. I literally went up to her and introduced myself, and the rest was history.

“The rest was history.” You mean right off the bat it didn’t work out? (I’m just asking in case your point is that “just going up to the person and introducing yourself” is not a good idea. But I hope it IS good.😀)

Well to go more into detail, "the planets were aligned" lol I was filling up my water bottle and she needed a utensil from a drawer, and I introduced myself. We dated for a couple of months then made it official. Then we broke up because I moved to Florida. It was fun while it lasted.

He already knows me a little bit, and says “Hi how are you” when he does see me. 😊

I have on idea but you might not like it. Stay away from romance at work unless you don’t care about that job. Again this is my opinion.

I SAID he works in a different department than I do. So why should it matter? I wouldn’t see him much while I’m working.
And by the way, it’s how my parents met, and their jobs went fine.
