Do I like her, or like the idea of her?

How do you tell the difference between whether you like someone, or you like the idea of being in a relationship with them? there's this girl who I've only met 1-2 times over the past mth and we Haven't even been dating, and at first I wasn't sure I liked her but because we've only met a couple of times, whenever I'm not with her I find myself thinking about her, like imagining us being together and all that.

I think she's a really nice person and maybe the instant chemistry is not as strong, but I am interested in giving in a go otherwise ill never noe. The thing is I'm not sure whether I'm going into it only coss I'm interested in the idea of being in a relationship. Is it normal to think like that at the start of dating?

Yes it's normal. I think a lot of single people meet someone and think "hmmm is this someone I can date? Someone I can get serious with?"

Totally normal. It's OK if you don't have an instant connection with him. It takes time. Are you attracted to her? Were you at first? I know this sounds vain but to have an instant connection or chemistry you think the person is hot/cute.

Let things go naturally, you never know if you actually end up liking her...a lot. BUT don't settle, if she isn't connecting with you after a couple dates and if you can't imagine yourself making out with her cause she's not attractive then let her go and move on.

second is the chemistry, do you guys get along really well?

third is the common interests, do you guys have a lot of common interests?

Then afterward you go on dates and such and become a couple but before that just get to know her more as a friend. good luck

i have the same sort of problem! I like a guy, he likes me, but I don't know if I like him for him, or if its the idea of him..
