The guy I like is pretty flirtatious in general. How can you tell if a flirtatious guy ACTUALLY likes you?

The guy I'm into honestly speaks to me in the same fashion as he does with other girls- he'll tease them, etc etc - but I've noticed a couple of differences:

-he pays a lot more attention to me. If he cracks a joke, he looks at me first.

-he glances at me/stares at me a lot

-he is always around me, somehow even if he walks over just once in history class.

-he laughs a whole lot when he's with me - but people have told me I am funny

Flirts are social creatures. These situations you describe are, I'm assuming, when you're in social situations with other people. You're not going to get an honest answer out of a flirt because the point is to keep playfully hitting back and forth, not to necessarily tell the truth. You have to find a way to get some one-on-one time with him (if you haven't already). He may continue to flirt as an act of deflection, but the secret to finding out his true intentions is simply this:

A flirt will tease. You probably play back, knowing that no offense is intended. When you're with him one-on-one, wait for him to tease you about something. ACT offended and storm off. If he tries to make amends with you in the following days, he's interested. He cares. If he doesn't make any attempt, then he's either not interested in your feelings and/or is too self-righteous to apologize. The good part is that if you still want to be friends with him and see if there's something possible later down the line, you can just approach him a few days after the storm-off and say something like you were just having a bad day and you didn't mean to take it out on him. Win-win.

I find this question kind of ironic - the guy who isn't shy at all causing confusion.

I think NotThere gives good advice on how to play games with this guy. I think that will work. BUT, I lean more toward PureFury's advice if you are looking for a good relationship. Playing games can get you in to a complicated dating situation where you are not sure what your guy is thinking and you can end up getting hurt. If you want a playful, but possibly term limited, relationship, then you can approach it slyly. But if you want to know his true feelings, honesty is the best policy.

Honestly, I wouldn't expect much from one of these guys. I could be wrong, but the guys I know who are like that tend to jump from one girl to the next. I hate saying this, but he might think you're the most attractive girl in the group. Problem is that it doesn't mean that he wouldn't go with any of the others or that he would stay with you. My advice, and that's all that it is cause I only know what you've told me, would be to go and have a good time. Don't take him seriously and don't expect him to stay. It sounds like he likes you enough that if he isn't seeing someone you could probably ask him out and he'd say yes. Go for it and have some fun....then see how he acts when he's in a relationship. That will probably tell you the most about what he's really like. Just don't get your heart set on this one too fast, cause I'd hate to see you get heart broke over a guy like this.

Mr. notthere I really wish you wouldn't endorse people playing games with other people. The simple answer is to ask him sweetly, not accusingly, if he likes you. If he does he's not going to say no. That's counter productive, he's going to admit yes. If he doesn't then he will either tell you no, or dodge the question. And then he's going to think to himself that his flirting cause you to think he liked you. He's not going to think you are dumb because you fell for his flirt trap or anything like that.

Well if this guy is flirting with you, then he obviously likes you.

But if he is a flirtatious type of guy, and he is just toying around with you, then he isn't the right guy for you.

Anyway if he really loves you, then go up and ask him how he feels or maybe ask him out on a date.

If he doesn't love/like you then he is just toying with you,(sorry to say).
