My girlfriend dumped me because I'm too romantic?

OK I'm just f***ing confused, I'm a natural romantic I believe in the classics, a dozen roses, candles and all that jazz, anyway so we are at that stage where we need to find common ground before we can have a relationship (friend zone). So there is a possible chance at trying again. She is 2 years younger than me but she is wiser beyond her years (she is 15 I am 17) anyway she says she likes manly guys, that's what gets me. I play rugby, I'm missing half a finger I have scars all over I've had 6 broken ribs, 9 broken fingers just to name a few I play the drums (metal) and I'm a grease monkey on top of that I'm 6'4 and built with wavy blond hair... (I know I sound like a d*** there) we have both been good about the break up we have kept our sh*t together but I'm still left confused

The common ground needs to be established because we met on a Friday and then ended up going out by Sunday.

To the point! I'm not sure if I want to establish that 'common ground' and try again with her after we have been friends for a while. Or stop and be just friends with her but I love her and its tearing me to shreds so can I please get some clarity.. do girls not like romantic guys? maybe I watch to many movies... she also said that I am too romantic... I mean I'm a sensitive (not overly but I do care) playful person. Can anyone shed some light?

What I failed to mention is that we have a connection maybe just not on that relationship level so if it doesn't work out then I'm more than happy being friends

My opinion is that what she's really trying to say is "I'm just not that into you." It seems like when people actually do say those words, however, that's not enough - we always want to know "but what is it about me that you're not into? I can fix it, I promise!" And that's the hard part. Some things, like chemistry or just a sense of "clicking" or "not clicking" aren't easy to describe or justify in words. So she had to pick something to tell you that was at least kind of close to how she felt.

IMHO.

Everyone's different, and she may really be turned off by romantic, sensitive guys, but I feel like if she really felt a connection with you, stuff like that wouldn't matter as much as you think it might.

wow that was something, I really appreciate that, I may have left out the part that we could have a future and if not we would be friends and good ones at that because we click maybe not on that level though, so thank you for that :)

you sound really nice mate! So just try your very hardest to move on, cause if she hasn't cut it all with you for a valid reason like insecurity. there are so many potential companions, don't look for one, you'll find one and she'll be amazing. Then be the gent you sound like. ;)

1st of all you sound awesome the thing is that there are some (weird) girls that don't like romance...They find it not manly...Its stupid I know but I know 2 girls who gets turned off by over romance...I think you sound perfect I mean you play drums(metal!) you sound hot as hell and your romantic and sensitive...All I have to say is that she is not worth it you need to find a girl who loves the whole pack...Who ever she is ..No one is worth changing for...And if they are they will never ask you to change...

I know in some sense I sound like that guy that girls dream about but from experience once they find that guy they want something else, or maybe its just my bad taste in girls :P.

yeah a lot of times if you overplay the romance especially in the early stage of a relationship it can totally backfire big time. I say go hot and cold...for now go way cold leave her alone and find ...flirt with someone else even if it goes against your natural instinct. let her come to you and enough with the romantic stuff. I know how you feel...sometimes gotta use reverse psych. sucks I know.

All girls like different things. The earlier you learn that, instead of trying to force something to work with someone who isn't naturally compatible ... the better.
