Can a guy compliment a girls shirt, without sounding like his flirting? The shirt is awesome and their complete strangers.

Flirting is the intent of making it sexual. Complimenting a shirt just because you really like the shirt have nothing to do with flirting. It is just a compliment. Not an attempt to pick up a chick for the night or a date to turn it into something sexual anyway. Compliments don't bother me as long as it is truly genuine and friendly. But if it is sexual or flirting, I would not be comfortable with that.

I can't say how I would react since I've only been complimented on things that clearly accentuated my figure. Whenever I compliment guys without wanting it to be flirty, I just tell them "I like your shirt" in a very dull or normal tone with no smile or a slight smile. Then I purposely do something else immediately after like looking at my phone or leaving the area to not seem interested.

Of course. In fact even if he was attempting to flirt it would completely go over my head and I wouldn't notice 😅😅 I'd just see it as a nice compliment.

I get it a lot, and it doesn't bother me at all. I do think it might bother me a bit if I didn't get any compliments, I take a lot of pride in my outfits.
