Girls, Why does she keep walking up to me now that I spoke to her?

So me and a girl never spoke for months we just saw each other at the college gym. She would often stare at me every time she saw me. I would often check her out too.

However , often times she would just walk passed me like she was going to say hi. Then to just look to the ground. I noticed sometimes she would smile to herself around which was confusing.

So after 6-7 months of that , I spoke to her. However , I just walked up to her and faced her asking a question. I wanted to know if she was using something in the weights room. She started smiling to herself. And then afterwards she came up to me like three times and kept talking to me. It felt like she was making excuses but I thought nothing of it and was polite.

But now it’s back to normal again. She walks passed me with her head to her phone if she sees me. And then in the weights room , she keeps staring but doesn’t smile or say hi?

Reading this just makes me surprised by how closely we can be watched or scrutinized by others without even realizing. Maybe it’s because I’ve been in her position more than once, but I literally do so much of what you’re saying she does, and in a genuine way my mind is so far elsewhere. When I see someone looking at me, I definitely look back on occasion and laugh to myself because I am feeling awkward, confused, uncomfortable, etc. I am the type to smile or laugh to myself in situations that don’t even make sense, it’s just a trait. But I am sure I’ve had men observing these things and coming up with their own conclusions, how you are with that girl. Anyway, if she’s gone up to you 3 times to talk, maybe she’s not doing it anymore because you aren’t doing it back. Like you could approach her too. If you like her, then make it known. I can’t guarantee she’s sending signs, and I’m only saying this from my perspective of it never being my intention and she sounds like me lol. But you could always send your own signs, make some moves, etc. can't be all on her.

Yeah that’s interesting I feel like this is common. For months I tried to just ignore it incase I am misinterpreting. Also I often get a lot of looks because I am a pro athlete.

But like if I’m in the room of 300 people. She looks at me and no one else which was confusing.

Often times she walks passed like she’s going to say hi and then just looks to the ground. Or just stares and watches me workout.

Often times If she’s around me she will smile to herself which made me confused. I have looked at her often so guess she is feeling some interest from me.

I do like her a little bit but it feels awkward for me to approach. Any how this went on for months. And then once it felt natural to talk.

So I wanted to use some equipment she was using. So I walked right up to her and asked her if she was using it. Then I asked how long she will be and she kept smiling to herself and acting kinda shy. Then afterwards it felt like she was making excuses to talk. Because she kept walking up to me like three times asking questions.

But weeks later today , I saw her. She walked passed staring at her phone. Then later on she kept looking at me.

A part of me feels like she knows I’m nervous to talk and like her. Because if I look at her and don’t say hi, sometimes she sighs. Maybe she is getting fed up of me keep looking and not making moves I don’t know.

These things are possible! But I mean you won’t know until you ask. Of course there’s always the risk of getting rejected but even that won’t kill you, just upset you a bit. Regardless, it’d be helpful to know where you two stand, and how to act around her going forward.

From what you have said, it seems like there is a chance she might like you. I personally don't really look at a guy much if I have no interest in them. You should definitely talk to her more. Be the one that starts things, and see if she keeps going with them. Keep an eye out for settle signs.
