I can’t vote, because what I prefer is entirely dependent on who I’m with and my particular mood. I’ll cuddle w/ my mom or dad, but I won’t kiss them, not passionately. Same goes for friends, I’ll cuddle with them platonically but I'm not gonna kiss them! And with guys, sometimes there is nothing nicer than a good cuddle, and sometimes I desperately want to kiss them! So like most things under the umbrella of human behavior, it is entirely dependent on many factors… not the least of which is mood.

You claim that I am lecturing, and being annoying, yet MY MHO is 58%, and YOURS is 19%. I think I will stick to MY method for answering peoples questions which results in me being the Most Helpful Opinion more than HALF the time I give an answer, whereas YOU get the Most Helpful Opinion only in less than ONE answer out of every FIVE you give!

Kissing is nice for a few minutes but gets boring quick tbh unless it leads to something else.. but cuddling on the other hand is low effort, cozy and you can do for hours I love it

I find it depends on the person. I have had girlfriends who I just kissed a little here and there, but I also remember one girlfriend I had; all we seemed to do was kiss for literally hours on end. It was so much kissing I kid you not our lips got damaged. Dry and cracking like being in the sun, lol. I think the longest we ever made out for was maybe 3-4 hours at one time, and probably as much as 6-7 hours in a whole day.

It was definitely a bit of an anomaly, I don't think anyone else has come anywhere close. I want to say the "runner up" on kissing was 30 minutes or less, and I haven't had a good makeout session in years.
Cuddling is great, I like to get some kissing in as well if I'm feeling super close and intimate, or it will also usually lead to sex. But my boundary comes when I'm ready to sleep, I don't want to be touched in my sleep. It's just too stimulating and I won't be able to sleep, so I have to be left alone. So I will often cuddle up until I'm just about to fall asleep, then I roll away and get a little distance.

That's just it though, cuddling shouldn't always have to lead to something else, and if it's always used as a pretext to move on to other things, then to me, you don't get the true emotional intimacy and feeling of being LOVED. Sometimes I think knowing someone just wants to hold you in their arms, or even fall asleep that way, but without the other expectations, is a wonderful thing.

I always have believed that cuddling with someone you have a connection with is one of the most wonderful things. If it's too soon, you won't "feel" anything. If you've just spent some quality time with them (months, I think) and it's obvious you both genuinely care about the other's well being, then nothing could be sweeter than falling asleep in each other's arms.

I think I may come from a place of bias, because as weird as it may sound coming from a guy, my dates all wanted sex by the third date, and I would love to fall slowly in love first.
