Why do female employees flirt with co-workers but not with customers?

I've seen that constantly happening especially at the gym. It's complete bullcrap.

Feeling left out and a bit entitled? They don't flirt with customers because it's probably against company policy. If you want to a date, ask for one.

The problem is no girls ever go up to me unless they ask if I'm still using an equipment or tell me that a treadmill I'm using next to her isn't working...

Maybe the gym is not a great place to meet women.

Because if you complain, they can get fired.
To be honest I think thats a dumb reason to fire a person, especially since adults have very few ways to meet anyone, and the odds of co-workers being a match is pretty much zero.

Because they know each other and have inside jokes? That's before considering that they are staff providing a service for you. Making flirting highly unprofessional... That AND they don't HAVE to flirt with anyone.
