Why do older men in senior positions think it’s okay to touch me?

Anonymous

Sorry about how This question may come across strange but it’s happened to me a few times now. I’m a 5ft petite girl I’m 26 but look younger than my age.

here's just a few examples. So I attended this training course and the trainer shook hands with us all in turn as we left apart from me. He decided to give me a side hug?

Then this week I attended a shift at a new place and the manager touched me on my shoulder twice at different times. I found it strange as there was no reason for it. Like he was actually talking to someone else but touched my shoulder. If he knew me well and did it fair enough but the man doesn’t even know me! Also he was walking past corridor and said sweet like chocolate and looked at me but think he was flirting in a non obvious way.

Also there’s been occurrences in meetings where an older senior person will be talking and then they end up calling my name out infront of everyone instead of anyone else’s and just make a random joke.

I don’t think I come across as the type to attention seek infact im quite the opposite and reserved. So not sure how they even feel comfortable doing it?
