Is the definition of flirting changing over time?

It seems like flirting is being replaced by sexualizing a person and people call it flirting, even the catchphrases seem to be getting sexualized, women do y'all still experience innocent flirting? Men do you still used innocent flirting? It seems like flirting has changed overtime, it seems to fall in a different form of catcalling, or perhaps it needs it's own term? What are your opinions?

I am quite sure that flirting has always been subjective, and also about perception

it has never been one simple and strict format that absolutely everyone follows, lol

we're all different and many contexts and backgrounds are different as well, different cultures, different generations

I struggle with generalizations... lol

I know older people, people on their 50's, their 60's... 30 to 40''s

then you have all the youngsters on their 20's doing their own thing

and all those armies of teenagers joining the world, and they all seem to be different to each either even if a few years apart

you have American people, European people... Latin American, different religions, different cultures

people who have online experience, others that more experience in real life situations

it is just very difficult for me to narrow it al land simplify all of that into the same generalization for all...

Yep unfortunately the people worth the time blend in with the crowd, hopefully the more generations go by the changes are for the better and all this dies out soon

Not everyone follows it, that's where standards come into play its how a person was raised, values and self worth. I feel sorry for the kids these days, my childhood was some of the best of the last of the good days, honestly

Yea it definitely does reflect on your parents as well, there's still hope for this generation tho, just a bit but it's something you know
