I met this guy as a client at work. Well not my client but my boss’s client. I am a secretary there. He is 49 and I am 23. We went to lunch a few times and that was it. Then I started going to dinner with him then it became intimate about 6 months ago. I know I should feel bad but I don’t. To me this is the ideal NSA relationship you can have because he is taken. I just want to know how others think about situations like this. Ladies do you look for something more? Guys how do men view their mistress? Do they want more? Or do they like the status quo?

As an oldster, let me tell you it is generally a *bad* idea. Hearts generally get broken, and you will generally become a part of that.

OK, then I do congratulate you on having that understanding from the get-go. I do have a friend, with whom I go on short ski vacation trips in the winter, and "après ski" in the evenings he looks to hook up with any young snow bunnies on their ski vacations that will "play". He and his long-standing wife do seem to have an understanding that he can go "play", but that what happens in Tahoe or Aspen or Vail or Sun Valley or Kitzbühel Austria, must STAY there and not come home. I think for her part she has close relationships with some rather butchy looking women while he is gone. Not for me to judge, but they have kept it from their children, and they have successfully raised three of them to become happy young adults on their way to happy professional lives.

But I dare say they are the exception and not the rule. Most men doing this are cheating on their wives.

THAT is the problem. Most DO. Undeniable truth of life: Sex will change things between people.

No, typically they DON'T want more, unless the home life is falling apart and the new lady is Trophy Wife Plan B. Otherwise, status quo is "great" for them. "Great" with qualifiers. Typically, those guys are nervous about leading a secret double life, mixed with being happy about "having their cake and eating it, too".

This isn't going end well, and I'm not even saying that because he's married; it's because he's your boss's client. The thing about married people is that they ultimately make the choice to step out. Personally, I think you can be faithful to someone while also having sex with other people, provided that your spouse knows whats up. What makes this a bad idea is that you're fucking with your boss's money. You WILL lose your job for this, if it comes out.

Im going to leave aside the obvious moral concerns and just point out that this could be very detrimental to your future career. You’re in a High-Trust position and need to be ethical. Not smart to be with him in public like that, and you don’t want to be named as the other woman in a divorce case.

As for mistresses, guys don’t respect them. And they aren’t going to want to leave their wives for their mistresses.
