How do you know if a coworker likes you?

I rarely see a coworker I like. When we do see eachother he's all smiles and direct eye contact. I sense he likes me, but he could just be friendly. He smirks in a cheeky kinda way. Once he lingered and made short small talk with me.

I worked in a large corporation and picked up on a lot of these subtle signs. The first thing you notice is that they are overly friendly. More than polite. The next thing you will notice, is they will suddenly make them selves apparent in that person space for some reason. They’ll drop off a project, be meeting with somebody, need to pick up a memo from someone near them, etc. and they will conveniently swing by your office or cubicle to say hello. Gradually, they may ask you for coffee or lunch at some point. At some point, just listen to your gut. Trust me the person who’s interested will make themselves very present in your workspace somehow.

Good luck with that. I can tell you one thing for sure, it is damn near impossible to keep it a secret. And once one person knows everybody knows. You will have to literally behave like a CIA agent to keep it under the radar. Remember you work around these people a lot and they’re very in tune with your behavior. They’re going to notice if you are acting differently around a female/male employee. It’s a minefield but if you care about the person then go ahead and try!

If you look into his eyes and he looks down, you like him, if he doesn't move his gaze or looks to the side, you don't like him.
