Is my Male Co-Worker being friendly or is he Interested?

Anonymous
I’m new to my hospital job and for a few weeks I noticed a guy always watching and staring at me from afar. He would linger near the main lobby where I work. One day, I was walking from a different floor and I noticed him walking down the hallway. He stopped to say hi and say “You must be new around here”, he never seen me around, and wanted to make small talk.

I didn’t have time to get into much so I kept the conversation short within a few seconds. Time goes on and I noticed he would find reasons to be near or greet. I stay to myself and don’t go out of my way to say hi because I don’t want to put any thoughts of anything in a guy’s head.

Last night he walked in and I him, put my head down, and he was glancing as he walked by. I went to for my lunch with my purse and as I’m leaving he turns the corner and we see one another. I greet him and he slows down his pace. He asks me what time am I leaving, I tell him, and he doesn’t say much. I ask him in return and he mentions any time he’s just taking the overtime shift. I simply say “Okay, that’s good” and I sorta stay behind him as he walks ahead.

He’s a decent looking guy but I wouldn’t say I’m “interested” yet. I’m getting familiar with everything and I want to know the motive behind his behavior?
