if someone was implying it, I would say why that way of thinking was wrong, and invite the other person that word was aimed at, to a nice meal or so, and in that one-on-one, tell them they shouldn’t let those words get to them and only welcome success getting to them, and opportunity. Being willing to always work and stand up for those qualities.
I’d tell them to have a great rest of the day, and move on.
Any physical situation, and I’d step in.

The “N” word doesn’t exist in our dictionary be it from white or black people.
Even black people here don’t use such a word or any other word for that matter.

s The "N word" doesn't exist in my native language but there's an equivalent to it. I grew up hearing it, I had teachers, classmates, coworkers and even family using it. I avoid using it, unless I'm trying to reproduce a conversation.
In this specific case, I would get up and leave.
Say nothing and everyone accuses you of being racist.
Say something and you're accused of being woke.
You can't win.
Well, it depends. If it were a friend, someone at work, etc. I would stop them right there.
But if i am out in public and some dude shouts it. I don't really have the time.
Can’t possibly answer the question without context. Anyone that is reactionary to this question and responds as if there is absolutely no context where the word is acceptable is just so wrong. Slavery is America’s sin until our free speech is taken, at that point, slavery takes a backseat.
This happened to me at work !! I was serving a customer and he said there’s a difference between a N*GGER and a N* GGA then proceeded to tell me he’s not racist.
Not my place to police their language, so I'm going to Ignore them as I stop the conversation and leave.
