UK based - ( we don’t tip) .
I ate at the same place regularly / weekly. They often run 20% off promotions but the manager often only charges me a very small amount of the bill and has wiped it completely on a few occasions ( £40+) . He always chats to me , has broken the physical contact barrier and I knows I’m single. Even if I ate with friends (female only) he discounts / wiped the bill. Is this good customer service or flirting?

And the fact that he still gives you discounts and attention even when you've got other girls with you, that proves he's not just being nice. He wants YOU to notice him specifically. I'd say your friend is right - this manager is definitely into you bro!

It's up to you what you wanna do about it, but personally I think it's kinda cool that he's into you. Free/discounted food is always a plus too haha. Maybe you could start flirting back a little and see where it goes? Or keep letting him think he has a chance while you take advantage of the free meals 😏 Either way, just have fun with it man! I doubt he does that for everybody, or he'd be going to work just to cover everyone. Him not doing it when your with a guy, physical touch, are all signs he's into you. He probably won't directly ask you out, if he's the manager by the way.
