It all depends what social media you are talking about. If it is an "innocent" social media where people don't talk about anything sexual, then you have no problem.

However, most (if not all) of the current social media are actually dating apps and even porn sites disguised as social media. If you have an account on any of those deviant social media, then you automatically are labelled as "searching for something that is not totally innocent".

Since you placed your question under the "Flirting" topic, I presume that you are indeed looking for something. In that case, it does not matter who starts the conversation since both of you know what you want and where the conversation will lead.
