Is flirting cheating? Like text someone “what’s your name 😉” or complimenting them on their appearance? Or just being overly friendly?

Well first of all I’d wonder how did you get the person’s number if you didn’t even know their name? I’d think you’d know their name by asking them first or someone else what is that person’s name. Then you’d get their number from them directly, not from someone else. I think it can be on the border of flirting if you’re just texting them to text cause you know you like them. I’m not saying you’re telling this person you think they’re handsome or something like that. But even general conversation through text knowing you like them I believe is teetering on that line of flirting. I see girls post online about places they go or things like that. Sure I’ll message them ask them about it, where’s it at, how much, etc. But that’s cause there’s a reason behind it. It’s not me just trying to make conversion because I’m attracted to them. As far as complimenting someone’s shirt, it could be seen as flirting. Again knowing you like the person yes I think it would be bordering that line. Now if it was just some random dude who had a really nice jacket, no feelings for that person behind your comment I’d think it’s fine. I hope that makes sense.

Every couple is different. So, it depends. If both of you agree that it's not a problem then it's not cheating. But the boundaries need to be clear and accepted by you and him. For me cheating is doing something behind the back of your partner, something that you know he doesn't approve.
