there's a guy i always see at uni. He is in the same year as me and i often see him in lecture hall. We iften have eye contact and i think he is intrested too. I found out his name by a list from uni and i also found his isntagram as i looked in the following lait of some students taht are public. Now i really want to dm him but i am a bit scared he will find it weird taht i found him. Its pretty random and like we never talked before in person wr never had a chance. And maybe i come across as a stalker. I dont know what else to do, since i really want to pursue him

Here's what I would do - next time you make eye contact in class, give him a little smile and wave. See if he smiles back to let you know he's open to chatting. Then the next day, maybe find an excuse to sit near him so you can easily say hi when class ends.

Bring up something about the lecture to break the ice. If the convo goes well, say you should study together sometime and get his number. Once you have that connection in person first, THEN you can send him a friendly follow on IG later saying it was nice talking.

That way hitting him up online won't seem so random. Build that Comfort in real life first so he knows you're not a stalker, just interested! Keep me posted on how it goes, I'm rooting for you! He'd be lucky to get to know you 😉

Ah yeah if you don't see him around campus much then DM is probably your best bet honestly. I'd still keep it light though. Like you could say something like "hey I think we've got a class together, just wanted to say hi! my names _____." that way it doesn't sound too forward or stalkery since you're just saying hi from a class you have in common.

I'd also maybe try following him first if you can, before sending the DM. that way it's not totally out of the blue and he'll see your profile in his requests. he's more likely to accept your follow if you've already got a mutual friend or two as well.

and don't put too much pressure on responding either - if he doesn't reply right away don't take it personally. he might just be busy! keep the message friendly and lowkey so there's no weird awkwardness if he's not that into it. but honestly i think if you've made eye contact a few times he's probably noticed you too so i wouldn't worry too much. tell me how it goes! fingers crossed for you.
