What Girls Said
Bffs tend to take liberties with the way they address their friend's spouse. It's not meant to be sexual or enticing at all, but just open and direct. (Sometimes it's rude... and you have to set a limit to it when you first meet the person, otherwise it will only grow worse over time.)
One of the hubbies in my group of female friends gets teased ALL the time by the bunch of us -- we're protective of our friend but also he's SO macho that we just feel compelled to give him 1% hard time when he walks in on one of our whine-and-dine dinners and gruffly asks his wife if she saved him any dinner. So we call him by a nickname (after an old cartoon we watched growing up) and ask him to sit with us and tell us about the big bad world of executive planning. We don't mean anything bad by it and we all consider the guy to be really amazing... especially to our dear friend, which means everything.

NP. Actually, I found a vid I was thinking of when I saw your question... it always makes me laugh because it's the poor hubbie's perspective on the wife's bold friends... 😂😂😂https://www. youtube. com/watch? v=JfMyAE5nI7g
